Why this matters here
Older Indian survey and revenue records sit on the Everest spheroid, not WGS 84. Treating one as the other puts everything a few hundred metres out — enough to move a plot boundary onto a neighbour.

What is this system used for?
MGRS is the military and emergency-services grid, used worldwide on topographic sheets. Plus Codes give a short address to any place, including those with no street name, and are widely used in India. A geohash is a text form of a location used to index spatial data in databases and search engines.
What does precision mean here?
Each system encodes a cell rather than an exact point, and a longer code means a smaller cell. The cell is drawn on the map so you can see the area a code actually covers, and its size is reported in metres.
Can I convert a whole list?

Why was my shortened Plus Code rejected?
A short code such as 8XW+G73 leaves off the first four characters and only makes sense next to a town name. This tool converts full codes, since resolving a short one needs a place database and that would mean sending your query somewhere.
